PEACE: Rwanda
2012 Rwanda PEACE Trip
Our next trip is scheduled for sometime between July 20 - August 1, 2012.
In Rwanda we are working with a inter-church cooperation of pastors in Kibuye to help them implement and spread the PEACE Plan. Here are a few specific ongoing projects we already support in Rwanda.
OVC Program
The OVC (Orphan and Vulnerable Children) Program are for families that have adopted orphans or have what are considered "at-risk" conditions. Through their local church they can apply for the program and receive support. In exchange they must sign an agreement with the church on how the funds will be used (food, clothing, healthcare, school supplies, and micro enterprising) and are held accountable by their local church. If you would like to support this ministry by supporting a child, it is $36 a month for a primary school aged child and $54 a month for a secondary school (vocational schooling) aged child. Unlike other organizations, since the money goes from local church to local church the family receives 100% of the funds given. The help given in this program radically changes the lives of the families, churches, and community. Our hope is to help not only the children in need in Kibuye, but help spread this program across Rwanda and other countries. To give, CLICK HERE and choose "Missions - OVC Program" as your designation. You can also set it up to be a reoccurring charge, so you don't have to worry about it each month.
