Personal PEACE:
Experiencing God’s loveGod reconciles us to himself through the sacrifice of his son Jesus. When we accept Jesus and his work on the cross as our way to God and forgiveness of sin, we are redeemed. We have access to God engaging him in a personal relationship. We are now to live our lives for God not for ourselves.
As the redeemed sons and daughters of God through Jesus, we are to impart the love we received through Jesus his grace and his mercy to all around us. God not only redeems us, but he commissions us. He gives us a new purpose and mission for our lives: to spread his message of love and forgiveness to a dead and dying world. We are called to be God’s hand and feet to the world in which we live.
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, 10 and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 2 Tim. 1:8 – 10 (ESV)
Sharing and Showing God’s Love To Those in Your World
Now, we see the world around us as our mission field constantly seeking to engage our culture and infuse the love of Christ. We are to be students of God’s word and the culture around us seeing how we can bring Jesus story, our story of his love and grace, to those around us. Whether is it our neighbor, someone in our work place, the mom in our play group, the student in the desk next to us, wherever God has placed us, he has placed us there for a reason: loving people, building relationships, earning trust, and sharing the truth of Jesus Christ.Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Timothy 2:2 – 5 (ESV) *Bold for emphasis
Personal PEACE equals Evangelism:
- Live a life that reflects God’s character and expresses his love for those he created. And always remember, you aren’t in this alone.- Be ready to share God’s story. God has been weaving an epic story throughout time, and it is now our turn to run with his story of love and redemption through the person and work of Jesus.
- Be willing to share your story; keeping in mind that it’s not only for your benefit, but also for others. Your story shows God’s glory!
