Two through Four year olds
Giraffes, Tigers, and Cheetahs (Twos, Threes, and Fours)
Preschool is the place for kids to learn about God and the Bible through interactive stories and activities. Repetition of foundational truths is our goal as preschoolers learn through Bible stories about God and his story.
During service hour, children check in to their classroom every week and play before they head to large group time. In large group, they worship together, enjoy story time that covers the main point for the day, and then head to the Ark for some playtime. Afterward they head back to class for snack and bathroom/diaper time.
Preschoolers who stay for small group hour will participate in activities that connect with the story they heard during large group.
Parents are given a take home sheet that lets them know the verse, Bible story, and the main point for the day. There are also an activity and questions for parents to do with preschoolers throughout the week.
Checking-In
Families can check in at any of our computer check-in stations located at Discovery Island (near the worship center) or the Ark (near the elementary wing). First time and visiting families will be assisted with check in and asked to fill out an information card to be entered into our check-in system. Attending and member families are issued a barcode card set to be used for self check-in. Children are issued a unique numbered name tag and parents are given a corresponding security tag required for pick up.
What to bring
In a diaper bag, please include the following:
- Two or three disposable diapers
- A complete change of clothes
- A sippy cup of milk, juice, or water
- Please leave all toys or sentimental items at home
Snacks
We offer goldfish to our preschoolers. If there is an allergy, please let us know. We do not offer peanuts or products made with nuts and ask that you do not send anything with those contents due to potential allergy problems.
Saying good-bye
After you have completed the check-in process, simply wave a quick good-bye and leave for the worship service or class. As you probably know, it is normal for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. This does not last long and separation becomes easier over time. Our leaders will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return after the worship service is completed.
What happens if my child continues to cry?
If your child cries more than 15 minutes and cannot be comforted, you will be paged, using the pager issued at check-in.
Wellness policy
We operate a well-child ministry. For the protection of all children, our ministry must decline admission to children with the following symptoms: runny nose, fresh cold (4 days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea and any other signs of illness. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our ministry a healthy place for all.
Promotion for classes
Children are placed in classes by their age as of August 1st of the current year. Preschoolers promote at the beginning of the next school year with the exception of kindergarten, which promotes at the beginning of the summer.
