Local PEACE
For an overview of the PEACE Plan, click here.
God tells us that love is to be our dominant life value. In fact, Jesus once said that of all the commands in the Bible two are most important. Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Explore the opportunities listed below that we have created to help you get connected to simple ways you can love the people in and around your community. You may also choose to create your own opportunity that is a perfect fit for you and your life group. If so, contact Tina at tbrown@fbccoppell.org.
Opportunities for Life Groups & Individuals:
Mentoring (Through HIS BridgeBuilders)
Kids Eat Free (Summer Only)
During the Summer we partner with CAA and area churches in the Kids Eat Free Program. Kids Eat Free provides lunches to children who during the school year qualify for free lunches. This way children do not go the summer months without lunch. At First Baptist Coppell we do this on Fridays. To participate just come to the church at 10:30am on Fridays. We will pack lunch bags and then take them over to a local neighborhood to pass out to the children. All ages welcome with parent supervision. For more information contact Josephine at josephinefos@verizon.net.
Clothing Closet
The women of FBC Coppell are excited to announce that we are sponsoring a clothing swap ministry at our church. You are invited to donate clothes, swap clothes, or both. We would love for you to bring any new or gently used clothing, socks, and coats for all ages. We are currently needing a volunteer to run this ministry. If interested, contact Tina at tbrown@fbccoppell.org.
Afrika Community Church
There are ongoing needs in partnering with the Afrika Community Church. Contact Tina at tbrown@fbccoppell.org for more information.
PEACE Relief Trips
When a natural or man made disaster happens, recover and relief takes months and years, not days. At First Baptist Coppell we want to partner with local churches in the damaged area to help them through these times. For example, after tornadoes struck in Joplin, MO people were left a mess to clean up. We sent a team in to partner with Samaritans Purse and a local church to help. We will continue to go back to Joplin and other areas in need. For more information about how you can be involved in PEACE Relief work contact Tina at tbrown@fbccoppell.org.
WidowBird
WidowBird Ministry was created to provide hope for widows and orphans both locally and globally. For more information on WidowBird CLICK HERE.
Benevolence
The
Benevolence
ministry at First Baptist Coppell is more than giving
people a hand out. We want to give people a hand up. If you are not a
member of First Baptist, we do have food available for those in need.
As members, we want you to have the opportunity to receive not only
financial
assistance, but also spiritual guidance in how to steward the finances
God has given them.
In addition to this, individuals or
families seeking will be asked to meet with a benevolence team member
to walk through 6 weeks of guidance in the area of finances and
stewardship. We believe these 6 weeks will help change the way people
look at their finances moving into the future.
Click here to download a Benevolence Application. Once completed, it can be turned into the church office.
