Life Group Champions

Element Champions are members of life groups that help share the responsibility of bringing health and balance to the group. A champion may also be the host, but does not have to be.

 CONNECT Champion:

Purpose:To help those in your life group connect with one another and the overall church body. This includes planning fellowships, socials, and get togethers on a regular basis. The Connect Champion makes sure everyone feels welcome and that they belong in this group.

Plan:One person from each life group will be included in communication from the Connect Pastor with specific announcements, tips, and meetings. The Champion then will make sure that these are communicated to the life group.

Pre-requisites:This Champion needs to have a heart for people and likes to have fun. You don't have to be the life of the party, just make sure there is a party.

 GROW Champion:

Purpose: To anticipate areas of growth in relationship to God and others (discipleship) needed by your life group, and to ensure appropriate teaching with application (read God's word and do what it says) is provided.

Plan: One person from your life group serves as a connection to the GROW ministry and its resources (Pastor, teaching materials, GrowPoint tracks, teachers).

Process:Each life group needs at least one Grow Champion. That person coordinates activity regarding the GROW element of their life group with the life group host(s) and Grow Pastor, individually and in fellowship with other Grow Champions. Grow Champions will meet together at least once per quarter.

Pre-requisites:The person you select as your Grow Champion does not need to have the spiritual gift of 'teaching', but should be passionate concerning the spiritual growth of the life group (Ephesians 4:11-16).

 SERVE Champion:

Purpose:To help all life group members find fruitful and fulfilling roles of service at our church. Help communicate critical volunteer needs to the life group as relayed through the staff.

Plan:One person from each life group will be included in communication from the Serve Pastor with specific requests and needs that must be met. The Champion then owns making sure that these needs are communicated to the life group and holds each member of the life group accountable to be involved in meaningful service.

Pre-requisites:This Champion will have a heart for service and take joy in helping others find service roles.

 SHARE/PEACE Champion:

Purpose: To keep your life group informed and engaged in all things PEACE (Missions)

Plan: One person from your small group serves as a connection for all PEACE communication (which will come from PEACE Director).

Process: Each life group needs at least one Share Champion. That person will receive communication from the PEACE Director and be asked to join the PEACE Leadership Team. The PEACE Leadership Team meets about once a month. 

Pre-requisites: The Share Champion does not need to be a missions expert. She or he simply needs to be willing to communicate opportunities and help the group include PEACE in its DNA.

 HONOR Champion:

Purpose: To equip your life group with tools to honor God in their home, workplace or school, relationships and thoughts.

Plan: One person from each life group will be included in all the communication with the worship team, regardless of talent or creative abilities.  The Honor Pastor will communicate with them and provide various tools to accomplish their purpose such as; music, scripture memorization cards, thoughts on worship & prayer, or reflective questions to ask during their life group.  These tools may be provided by the church or links to other resources.  

Pre-requisites:The Honor champion does not need to be an artist or musician in any way.  All you have to have is a heart that desires to honor God in every area of your life and to see those around you do the same.
