Clayton Coates Comes to FBCC in View of a Call followed by
Special Called Business Meeting
The Pastor Search Committee is pleased to announce that we have come to a unanimous recommendation for our next pastor. Clayton Coates is the man that each and every one of us believes God has prepared to lead our church. Clayton and his wife, Allison, are very excited about what God will do here at FBC Coppell.
Clayton has a strong background in the Baptist faith. He was raised in First Baptist Church Dallas, educated at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and served in Baptist churches during his ministry. He now serves as the Single Adult Pastor at Saddleback Church in California, a ministry with thousands of members. It is truly God's hand that has led Clayton and his family to us.
This Sunday, August 17, Clayton will preach in view of a call. The church members will convene into a special called business meeting for the purpose of voting to call Clayton as our next pastor. After the business meeting is adjourned, a church-wide catered luncheon will take place in the Fellowship Hall as we celebrate Clayton's arrival. Please make plans to attend as we welcome Clayton and his family into our church family. We ask that you contribute $5 per person to help offset the cost of the meal (max $20 per family).
To say that we are excited would be an understatement of the greatest proportion! Please be in prayer for Clayton and his family, our church, and our community as God continues to reaveal His plan for us in this place.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Search Committee |

God's All Stars - Vacation Bible School
With an average of 318 in attendance and those working, VBS was an awesome experience for all. The rooms were decorated in sports related themes and the kids got right into the action. We collected well over 1400 items for donation to CCA and our Thursday night Family Night turned out another huge crowd on our front parking lot with bounce houses, a water slide, a train, sausage on a stick, and fun an fellowship with our friends. Thanks to everyone who made this year's VBS a wonderful event! See you next year! Click here and then click on 2008 Vacation Bible School for pictures from our week! |

FBCC participated in Coppell's patriotic celebration at the park on July 3rd. We sat up a booth and handed out over 1,000 sno-cones and balloons, along with about 350 flyers promoting Vacation Bible School and Bright Beginnings. We had a great time meeting new people and serving so many. Thanks to those who donated items and to those who volunteered.
