Clayton Coates Clayton Coates Senior Pastor Prior to coming to FBC Coppell, Clayton led the Single Adult Ministry at Saddleback Valley Community Church in Lake Forest, California. At that time, Saddleback's Single Adult Ministry included over 13,000 single adults in the greater Los Angeles area. Prior to that, he was a pastor at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Clayton earned his Bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University in 1998 and a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004. Gary Cook Gary joined FBC Coppell in late summer of 2008. Gary was born in Tacoma, Washington and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Dallas Theological Seminary. Gary has served as an adjunct professor at DTS and associate pastor at a small Bible church in the DFW area. More recently, Gary has led recruiting functions for consulting organizations. His passions are teaching the Scriptures and reading books on the Trinity and the church of the 4th century. “The Cooks who love books” family includes his wife Karen, daughter Taddie and son James. |

Clay Phillips A lifetime resident of Coppell, Clay Phillips has been an active member First Baptist Coppell for many years. Prior to his service as an Elder on the Church Council he served as a deacon and on the Deacon Council. Serving in the music ministry continues to be one of the areas of service where he finds great joy. Clay currently serves professionally in our community as our City Manager after first serving as our Fire Chief and Deputy City Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Administration and a Master of Public Administration, both from the University of North Texas. He completed the program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and received the Executive Fire Officer diploma from the United States Fire Administration. Most of all, Clay enjoys the family that God has blessed him with. He and his wife Terry have two adult children, David and Jessica

Paul Lake Paul Lake has been a member at FBC Coppell for over twenty years and currently fills the role of Chief Safety Officer. Paul is also part of the leadership team for the “Men of Tuesday” Bible Study and actively involved in the FBC Men’s Ministry program. Married to his lovely wife Sandra he also has a young adult daughter (Colbie) that lives in the DFW area. Paul’s career has always been in the area of Architectural Design (currently specializing in commercial lighting) but his passion for law enforcement led him to take four years off to be a full time Police Officer in the late ‘90’s. As a secondary passion Paul is also the Founder and Executive Director of the state’s largest K9 search and rescue organization called “Search One Rescue Team” which has been in existence since 1983. |

Rusty Boaz Rusty Boaz graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Accounting and Masters in Taxation. Afterward he worked for a big 4 accounting firm in tax. He has held various roles in tax, treasury, and controllership for public companies, most recently CFO of a segment of a large public company in Dallas. Currently partner in a wealth management firm in Dallas that does investing and comprehensive financial planning with an emphasis on tax reduction. He and Kathleen got married 18 years ago and are blessed to have 3 kids Jake (16), Rachel (14), Nicolette (12). |

Russell Bond Russell Bond gave his life to Christ as an 8 year-old boy during a revival service and made a public profession of faith and was baptized. In 1986, Russell married his soul mate, Brenda, to walk beside him in life and ministry. Shortly after settling on Coppell as a place to live following a job promotion in 1996, Russell and Brenda began the process of looking for a church home. God seemed to draw them here to First Baptist Church Coppell. They joined the church and have been involved for over 13 years. They have been blessed with 3 awesome children: Christian (20), Brittany (17), and Allie (14). |

Ric Roberson Ric Roberson grew up in the small East Texas town of Carthage. After graduating from the University of Texas, he began a career with a local accounting firm in Houston. His wife, Sue Ann, has worked for American Airlines for 23 years. Rick and Sue Ann have always felt it was important to serve in their local church and have made it a priority. Ric and Sue Ann have served in various areas of FBC Coppell through the years including children’s ministry, Sunday School director and capital campaign and currently, First Impressions, Finance committee and as a Deacon.. They have two daughters, Amanda, 23( also a UT graduate) is a reporter with the CBS affiliate in Tyler Texas and Caroline who is 16 attends Coppell High. |
