Easter 2010
By: Tina Brown
I am so excited about Easter this year at First Baptist Church Coppell!! We are going to take the week from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday and focus on Christ. What better way is there to spend a week?!
We are going to join in the celebration like those who welcomed home a Messiah as Jesus made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem in our Palm Sunday celebration 10am March 28. We will follow the small groups time that day with a potluck on the grounds. What better way to celebrate than with food and fun!
Then Thursday night at our Maundy Thursday service we will look at the Last Supper and Crucifixion. The service will be on April 1 at 6:30pm. It will end in silence as we leave remembering the sacrifice that Jesus so freely gave for us.
Easter Sunday at 10am, we will pick back up where we left off the service on Thursday with a reflection on the cross. But we will not stay there long, because Easter is about the Resurrection! Join with others as we praise and honor a Risen Lord.
It will be a week of honoring the defining moment for our faith. We join with Christians around the world looking to Jesus who loved us so much He gave His life.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not die, but have eternal life." John 3:16
Just a few other things to note about the week:
1. Preschool age childcare is available for all the service. Elementary aged children and older are welcome to join us in the services.
2. There will be no small groups on Easter Sunday.
