Over the next few weeks you will see several posts from us about the upcoming school year, dates, and meeting times for volunteers and parents just to name a few. So stay tuned for a few posts. <br><br>The blog is not our primary communication tool for details, but it is a primary tool for us to communicate what God is doing and how stinkin excited we are about what God is doing not just inside the walls of the church, but in the hearts of those he has entrusted to us!! I am pretty sure from this point on in the blog you will only see exclamation points as punctuation!!!!! <br><br>Already we have seen the Student Center being a great tool to reach the community. Here are a couple stories:<br><br>A couple weeks ago when it was a million degrees outside there were 3 kids skate boarding outside the student center. They looked hot so we invited them in for a drink of water and hang for a bit before they went back to skating. They came in and here's what we found out... one had just moved to Coppell a few weeks earlier and through the course of the conversation we learned that he had been attending another church where he moved from, but they had not had a chance to check out any churches here in Coppell yet. We told him that he just did by walking in the doors. He made the connection that the student center was part of the church and said "well this is pretty cool." They left and within 30 minutes came back to hang out more and play video games and after about an hour or so we exchanged contact info and hopefully they will be back to join us for a service!!<br><br>The other story is from a week ago. We had a birthday party scheduled for the student center on a saturday night and approximately 40 kids showed up for it and of those 40 that were here one of our FBCC students brought a couple friends with her. They were excited to be there and the following Sunday morning I saw our same FBCC student with the same 2 friends in the morning service then they came to student ministry after service. This is cool enough but it doesn't stop there... one of the friends she brought Facebook friended me and sent me a message saying how great she thought it was and that she was going to come back next week and bring her mom with her!!! <br><br>CHURCH!!! It's happening!!!! Bring your friends!! Everybody is doing it! Sorry that was a little peer pressure statement. I Can't wait to see what happens when the ARK opens in less than 2 weeks!! In light of these couple of stories I want to add a few details so you know what's coming up. We are currently praying and planning for how God would have us move forward with programming and events and budget items etc. We covet your prayers. We will be communicating with you over the next 3 weeks what you can expect specifically through the end of the year and all major event dates through next Summer.<br><br>In fact if you are interested in getting involved or even if you are not sure how you could serve but you would like more info on how you could get involved in Age graded ministry (0-12 grade) then mark your Calendars for August 15th 3-5pm here at the church for our Fall Age Graded VolunteerMeeting. Over the next few weeks you will see several posts from us about the upcoming school year, dates, and meeting times for volunteers and parents just to name a few. So stay tuned for a few posts. <br><br>The blog is not our primary communication tool for details, but it is a primary tool for us to communicate what God is doing and how stinkin excited we are about what God is doing not just inside the walls of the church, but in the hearts of those he has entrusted to us!! I am pretty sure from this point on in the blog you will only see exclamation points as punctuation!!!!! <br><br>Already we have seen the Student Center being a great tool to reach the community. Here are a couple stories:<br><br>A couple weeks ago when it was a million degrees outside there were 3 kids skate boarding outside the student center. They looked hot so we invited them in for a drink of water and hang for a bit before they went back to skating. They came in and here's what we found out... one had just moved to Coppell a few weeks earlier and through the course of the conversation we learned that he had been attending another church where he moved from, but they had not had a chance to check out any churches here in Coppell yet. We told him that he just did by walking in the doors. He made the connection that the student center was part of the church and said "well this is pretty cool." They left and within 30 minutes came back to hang out more and play video games and after about an hour or so we exchanged contact info and hopefully they will be back to join us for a service!!<br><br>The other story is from a week ago. We had a birthday party scheduled for the student center on a saturday night and approximately 40 kids showed up for it and of those 40 that were here one of our FBCC students brought a couple friends with her. They were excited to be there and the following Sunday morning I saw our same FBCC student with the same 2 friends in the morning service then they came to student ministry after service. This is cool enough but it doesn't stop there... one of the friends she brought Facebook friended me and sent me a message saying how great she thought it was and that she was going to come back next week and bring her mom with her!!! <br><br>CHURCH!!! It's happening!!!! Bring your friends!! Everybody is doing it! Sorry that was a little peer pressure statement. I Can't wait to see what happens when the ARK opens in less than 2 weeks!! In light of these couple of stories I want to add a few details so you know what's coming up. We are currently praying and planning for how God would have us move forward with programming and events and budget items etc. We covet your prayers. We will be communicating with you over the next 3 weeks what you can expect specifically through the end of the year and all major event dates through next Summer.<br><br>In fact if you are interested in getting involved or even if you are not sure how you could serve but you would like more info on how you could get involved in Age graded ministry (0-12 grade) then mark your Calendars for August 15th 3-5pm here at the church for our Fall Age Graded VolunteerMeeting.
