Summertime

by Charley Hellmuth

Greetings!!!! I wanted to share a brief snapshot of the New Orleans Mission Trip we just returned from and give you a heads up on the next trips we have scheduled. It was incredibly hot and rewarding all at the same time. We were collaborating with other churches from around the states and partnering with Vintage Church...a church plant in the Uptown area of New Orleans (very similar to the Uptown area of Dallas). Our work included cleaning up lots in the lower ninth ward, volunteering at an assisted care living facility, food bank, canvassing neighborhoods for VBS promotion and the list goes on. Each day I was really excited to see our kids get up ready to take on the day and whatever it held for them; not just in tasks but also in spiritual things. These are only highlights of course, and you can see the videos that Clay West posted in the earlier posts to gain a clearer picture of our time there.

Coming up are some great things to be signing up for as I type this...

If you are in high school, then Student Life Beach Camp to Orange Beach, AL July 14th - 18th is for you and your friends!!! I still have several spots open for this trip and what a great way to spend a week of your summer...sand, sun, FUN, friends, and expanding our faith.

If you are in middle school and are thinking to yourself..."I wonder what I can do this summer"...I have a plan for you and your friends too. Student Life Camp at Oklahoma Baptist University, July 25th - 29th. It will be a great chance to spend some time with your friends and learn more about a relationship with God.

If you have questions, then just call me at 214.557.5419 or email me at chellmuth@fbccoppell.org. You can also check out the following websites for videos and more general info. Stay tuned for more posts.

Kids Eat Free

by Clay Adkisson

Mondays and Fridays this summer have been such a blessing. We have been feeding kids at the Wellington Apartment Boys and Girls Club on MacArthur and at the Golden Triangle on Coppell Road. Jesus calls us to feed those who are hungry and we are getting to obey this command twice a week right in our own backyard. Beyond meeting a practical need in the lives of these kids and families, our lives are being touched and relationships established within our community. The Boys and Girls Club at the Wellington...

Spirit of Coppell Fourth of July Celebration

by Clay West

This weekend our church has the opportunity to participate in the Spirit of Coppell Fourth of July Celebration at Andy Brown East.  The two day event includes a vendor exhibit and fireworks show on Friday evening and a parade through Coppell on Saturday morning.  Both of these opportunities will allow us to show Coppell who we are and what we're about.  On Friday evening we will have a booth hosted by FBC where we will be handing out 1000 free sno cones, 1000 free balloons and a cool...

Pastor's Prayer Partners Breakfast This Saturday

by Clayton Coates

This Saturday begins a great ministry in the life of our church. Prayer is the most important we have in our spiritual tool belt. There is nothing more important for our church and our future than prayer. Prayer is what is going to ensure that we have the right men on our first church council, prayer is what is gong to ensure that our steps towards the future are God's steps, and prayer is what is going to ensure that we have the staff that God desires to lead our church into the future. Prayer is...

Regrets

by Daena Yerkes

I am embarrassed to admit that I spent all of last night (and will spend most of tonight) completing an online defensive driving course. While it has been less than enjoyable, this torturous, time consuming, and waste of 'laptop-life' task has done a great job of making me very sorry for speeding. Last night, I found myself thinking, "If only I had paid attention to the sign, and if only I had not have been on the phone, and if only..." Basically, I can sum up all my "if onlys" with one word -- regret....

Welcome to First Baptist of Coppell

I see on your home page that you have two different services, what is that all about? watch the video or click here for services times.

Is your church focused on married families, single parent families, single adults, which?
That is a great question! As you have already seen and read, we are a church in the midst of transition. We are not currently where we desire to be. We value all life stages and believe that God has a special plan and purpose for all of us. We will have to admit that currently we offer far more for married families than we do single adults and single parent families. That will change in the very near future as we raise our level of commitment to single adults and single parent families.

We are currently launching our first young (20’s – 30’s) single adult small group that will meet on campus, Sunday mornings, at 9:30. By the end of the year, we will launch our Single Parent Family Ministry and an older single adult small group. Contact the church for more information.

Pastor Clayton has a background in ministering to the needs of single adults of all life stages. He has launched two young single adults ministries from scratch, two worship experiences for single adults, written single adult material, is a published author on the topic of singleness and has been a guest speaker at conferences and single’s ministries across the country.
Single adults, married couples and families of all shapes and sizes are VERY important to God’s kingdom and therefore to First Baptist Church Coppell.

Do you have childcare during the service? We do offer an intentional program called “The Net” for children 5 years of age and younger. “The Net” a safe place where your child will be taught about the love of Jesus. Children 6 years and older are asked to sit with their parents in the service. Things are more easily “caught” than “taught” and we believe that children benefit greatly from being involved in the worship service. We also understand the attention span of a child and provide age appropriate activity sheets every Sunday. They can be picked up at the information center or from a greeter.

How would you describe your church? watch the video

Service Times

At First Baptist Church Coppell we believe that true worship comes from your heart, but we also know that there are different styles when it comes to church worship settings. Here is a description of what each of our services has to offer:

Vintage Worship Service - 8:15 a.m.

Our Vintage worship service is designed for those who prefer a more conservative worship atmosphere. Hymnals are primarily used, there is a choir wearing robes, and you will hear music played on our organ. You may see stained glass images up on our walls. Come to this service if you favor the traditional style of worship. We will praise the Lord together!

Modern Worship Service - 10:45 a.m.

Our Modern worship service is designed for those who prefer a more progressive atmosphere. In this service you will hear worship songs played from a full band with various forms of multimedia incorporated. The volume level of this service is turned up a notch. Come to this service if you favor the contemporary style of worship. Together, we will sing praises to our God!
